Cantonese Interpreters in Fresno

With over 5 million Asian Americans, their community is constantly growing. Stretching from NorCal to SoCal, the need for a Cantonese interpreter is always on the rise. With Asian culture so apparent in Fresno, Cantonese interpreters are always being requested there as well. Asian culture in Fresno spans back over a century with the establishment of Chinatown.

Fresno’s Chinatown

Chinese settlement in Fresno began all the way back in the early 20th century when Chinese immigrants came to build railroads through the Central Valley. It was during the days of the Gold Rush. The core of Chinatown in Fresno came in the early 1880s and was established west of the railroad tracks. Although local missionaries attempted Americanization of the community, it found a way to stand tall and retain its culture and diversity. Chinatown can be found between Highway 99 and the iconic Fresno skyline. It is 18 blocks filled with landmarks, restaurants, and buildings brimming with history and a thriving entertainment district.

Fresno’s Asian Festival

Asian Fest is a festival to celebrate and showcase the Asian culture and community. From food to performances and art, the Asian culture makes its appearance at Asian Fest. The event itself has held over 300 performances. Cosplay also plays a large part in Asian Fest with attendees dressing up to the nines in their favorite characters. Cosplay contests also take place crowing the best-dressed attendee. The main event found at Asian Fest would be the martial arts performed. A fundraising event also rose from the festival. The event is called Sake Garden raising money for student scholarships in Fresno.

There are approximately 10,000,000 (ten million) people who have hearing loss in the United States, and it’s estimated that about 1,000,000 (one million) of them are considered functionally deaf. As a result, The 1990 Americans with Disabilities Act requires businesses to accommodate these disabilities by making reasonable accommodations for normal day-to-day communication needs such as providing sign language or captioning during remote video meetings so those participating can communicate more easily.

The ability to reserve a certified sign-language interpreter is of paramount importance. Our professional courteous and experienced interpreters are the logical choices in facilitating communications between the hearing enabled, people who are deaf or hard-of hear, they can also help those that have limited speech due to medical conditions like paralysis caused by stroke
or ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis).
