What is Subtitling?
Subtitling services are used to expand the reach of an audio or video presentation. Similar to closed captions, text is displayed across the lower third of a screen. Subtitles include dialogue and descriptions of sounds.
Care is taken to match the translated dialogue to when characters speak on screen. While intended to expand a viewing audience across one or more languages, subtitles are often selected by native speakers to understand words they may have had trouble understanding in the performance.
